The Student Career Compass: 16th October 2024

Since 2018, as a group of some of the largest and well-known employers across the UK, we have come together to help students – whether still at school or at university – navigate the uncertainty around employment options and make informed career choices. We’ve now got a very special event lined up for this October.

Understanding the future of work is vital for students because it equips them with the foresight and adaptability needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving job market. As technology and global trends reshape industries, students who are aware of these changes can make informed decisions about their education and career paths. This awareness will help students develop relevant skills, embrace lifelong learning, and stay competitive.

By acknowledging the roles and necessary skills that companies are looking for, students can start to position themselves for the career opportunities of the future. As such, The Student Career Compass is proud to host their latest career immersion event taking place on 16th October and supported by some of the most well-known organisations globally: BBC, CBRE, FDM Group, Kier Group, Deloitte, NatWest Group (including NatWest Markets, the Investment Bank), Rathbones Group and Trowers & Hamlins Law firm.

As a precursor to the event and due to high demand, we will be hosting an interview skills guidance session to help students navigate the interview process. We will then showcase a number of live mock interviews on stage towards the end of the evening, so students can see first-hand the do’s and don’ts of a good interview.

And that’s not all. For those attending in person, as well as the organisations listed here, we will have additional stalls hosted by other global organisations.

There are two ways to participate. You can either attend in person, but we also recognise that not everyone can travel into London, so we are pleased to be able to provide the option to participate online.
