The Student Career Compass – Tech Special: 13th March 2024

Since 2018, as a group of some of the largest and well-known employers across the UK, we have come together to help students – whether still at school or at university – navigate the uncertainty around employment options and make informed career choices. We’ve now got a very special event lined up for this March.

As we know technology is shaping the future of work in many different ways, creating exciting career opportunities, and transforming the way we work. It is also creating entirely new career paths that were unheard of just a decade ago. Roles such as data scientist, machine learning engineer, cybersecurity analyst, UX/UI designer, and virtual reality developer have gained prominence and will continue to expand as technology advances.

By understanding the roles and necessary skills that tech companies are looking for, students can start to position themselves for the career opportunities of the future. As such, The Student Career Compass is proud to host a tech specific career event taking place on 13th March and supported by some of the most well-known tech organisations globally: BT Group, Dell, Microsoft, Google, the software technology company, Aveva, and School of Coding and AI.

We are also going to showcase a number of live mock interviews on stage, so students can see first-hand the do’s and don’ts of a good interview.

And that’s not all. For those attending in person, as well as the organisations listed here, we will have additional stalls hosted by other tech intensive organisations plus a number of specialist student support services.

There are two ways to participate. You can either attend in person, but we also recognise that not everyone can travel into London, so we are pleased to be able to provide the option to participate online.
